Specialised Movers is a Sheffield based removals company that specialises in storage and all aspects of commercial and domestic removals including houses, flats, offices, libraries, factories, hospitals museums, schools and local government facilities. Formed in 1985 Specialised Movers grew rapidly as one of the major removal companies of that time.
As the reputation of Specialised Movers grew, so did the company in terms of vehicle fleet size and staff. In addition to our rapidly expanding home moving business, major organisations began to approach us directly, and we quickly gained a portfolio of commercial clients who used us regularly, including Carillion, Balfour Beatty, HSBC, the NHS, The Inland Revenue, and The Home Office. These companies recognised that not only did we price our services fairly, but we also provided a high-quality service, only using our own trained and experienced staff rather than sub-contractors. Our clients from both the public and private sectors have now used us for over 35 years. We do not take our customers for granted!
Our clients benefit from a strong professional relationship with both our management team and operative staff. Low staff turnover has resulted in our management and operative staff improving their skills, becoming very experienced in their work which enables them to anticipate the needs of customers even before they do!
Meeting the individual challenges our customers face is what sets us apart as a professional removal company in Sheffield, nationally and internationally. All of customers, whether for home moves or commercial relocations know that every aspect of their move will be carried out by highly trained employees of Specialised Movers. As well as purpose-built vehicles and protective and packing materials that we use on most moves, for those more challenging jobs we have our own lorry-mounted crane (26ft), stair robots for moving very heavy objects up or down stairs, and scoots for heavy items such as pianos and fireproof cabinets.
Specialised Movers have also been very much involved with the British Association of Removers (BAR) which is the dedicated trade association for the removals industry, as well as the Association’s dedicated Commercial Moving Group (CMG). Indeed for eight consecutive years we were finalists in the industry’s Commercial Mover of the Year competition and overcome tough national competition to win the Commercial Mover of the Year Award in 2021.
